This interview is about Jon Stewart who appeared on Fox News Sunday for a combative interview, Chris Wallace (host) tried pinning Jon for his repeard criticism of Fox's bias, he asks he comediatian repeatedly whether he thought the mainstream media; ABD, CBS, the new york times, etc..; was itself biased. Chris asks a variety of different questions throughout the interview, alot are open.
Chris opens the interview by introducing Jon Stewart, he opens it argumentivly this shows from the start it is going to be a combative interview.
'It was last November when Jon Stewart promised on his show he would come here and answer my questions. After months of evasion, disconnected phone numbers and press agents saying 'who are you again' it appears he finally ran out of excuses, so Jon Stewart welcome to Fox News Sunday'
He argumentivly answers after 'thanking' him for inviting him to Fox News Sunday.
'...As a viewer I can't tell you how disappointed I am that would sully programme of this integrity of this quality with the presence such as Jon Stewart.'
Throughout the whole of the interview majority of the questions and answers are explained and expanded in depth.
Jon goes into detail with his answers to try and get his point across for example; "People on the right are called racists and they're called things with an ease that I am uncomfortable with- and homophobic and all those other things. I think that that is absolutely something that they have a real right to be angry about," Stewart sais. "And I've been guilty of some of those things myself." Jon also asks himself questions when he is answering, trying to make sure he answers everything which is asked, he also answers argumentative back to Chris;
'WALLACE: You don’t think The New York Times is a liberal organization now pushing a liberal agenda?
STEWART: The New York Times? No. I think they are to a certain extent. Do I think they’re relentlessly activist? No. In a purely liberal partisan way? No, I don’t. I think this is — Fox is a very special.
Stewart also said Fox viewers are “consistently” the most “uninformed” news consumers.
At one point as Wallace continued to press his case, Stewart compared him and other Fox anchors to dupes inside a totalitarian state.'
Chris is also sarcastic and argumentative throughout the interview. he is determined to get his answers for the interview. He doesn't only ask questions he says things to him which causes him to answer as if he's asked him a question, for example; "You love to take shots at Fox News." Even though it is an interview in some parts of the interview they argue with each other instead of asking questions like other interviews. Chris points out that Jon was no different to him, he points out how Jon had compared coverage of Sarash Palin's bus tour to a herpes drug commerical, calling this a political comment. Instead of Jon waiting for a question or disagreeing like most interviews would go he says to Chris "You're insane."
They both end on good terms and thank each other.
'just got to say because 'we've got to go' 'I accept your apology' (Jon laughs) 'I accept you for coming on '
'you get me?'
'Well you know what if you come back we can explore this some more' 'We validate'
Ends with John saying- 'Still you're a good man'
